All social distancing and safety protocols recommended by the CDC and listed on the COVID-19 Mandates and Directives webpage are still in effect. Although The Office of Communications and Planning at the Archidiocese has received a number of complaints that some parishes are not enforcing the mandate for masks upon entry or anytime outside of the pews, or enforcing social-distancing guidelines; St. Matthias continues to ask everyone to be masked whenever you are on St. Matthias the Apostle grounds or attending Mass. We want to reassue you that providing the safest possible environment for the faithful in our parish is a continued top priority. This is especially important now as we enter cold and flu season.
Planning for a possible increase in congregation sizes this upcoming Advent and Christmas season is in full swing. Parishioners may continue viewing Mass via live-stream. All safety protocols still need to be followed even during this busy time. Please pray for everyone in the parish involved in planning and executing any additional safety precautions to ensure the safety of all the faithful this upcoming Advent and Christmas season.
